Why Slava sends people here
First impressions matter in Slava's business, and in his clients' too. For a suit that fits like it should, for a wedding, a closing table or a big presentation, this is the family shop northern Bergen County has trusted since 1974.
The story
Sal Lauretta learned tailoring from his father, Raffaele, a master tailor with a small shop in Vittoria, Sicily. After the family came to New Jersey they opened a dry cleaner where they did tailoring, then opened Sal Lauretta for Men right next door in 1974.
Five decades later it is a full menswear store in Midland Park with custom suits, European tailoring and designer labels, run by Sal and his son Ralph. In 2025 NorthJersey.com readers named it Best of Bergen for men's fashion, and it was a finalist for tailor.
